AWARES: Fresh Angle International’s Ukah wins first position for quality reportage of the Oil, Gas sector

Senior Correspondent of Fresh Angle International, Comrade Celestine Ukah, has won the first position for “his quality reporting of the Oil and Gas Sector”, in the class of 2015 participants of Advanced Writing and Reporting Skills, AWARES, 2015 Certificate Course.

 

Comrade Ukah, has been covering most events and programmes of Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL for Fresh Angle International since attending the training on the recommendation of the flagship Warri based media.

 

The AWARES programme was sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Limited and holds at the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, PAU, Lagos.

 

Comrade Celestine Ukah, who was the first member of the Editorial Team of Fresh Angle International to attend the AWARES programme and has grown into Media Consultancy, was on Sunday October 10, presented with the Award Plaque in-scripted, which he dedicated to the Management of Fresh Angle International for, “creating and giving me the expository opportunity to excel in journalism practice”.

While responding on behalf of other awardees, Ukah, expressed joy for the honour, recognizing his efforts in Journalism by the School of Media and Communication, SMC and Chevron Nigeria Limited.

 

He added that the award will spur him to work harder for more services to humanity, by reporting facts and exhibiting objectivity while passing messages across to the masses. 

 

In his remarks, the General Manager, Policy, Government & Public Affairs, PGPA, CNL, Mr. Esimaje Brikinn, noted that Chevron pioneered the AWARES programme in collaboration with the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, PAU in 2014, “to foster partnership with the media and facilitate capacity building of the media practitioners, in order to enhance their skills in performing their duties”. 

 

The Chevron PGPA Boss, who was represented by Mr. Victor Anyaegbudike, disclosed that Over 100 journalists have benefitted from the AWARES programme since its inception in 2014, noting that participants have continued to attest to the positive impact of the training on their skills development in Journalism.

 

Mr. Brikinn stated: "As partners, we seek for better mutual understanding of our business environment, its challenges and its growth potentials. I encourage you, as our critical stakeholders, to be balance, fair and accurate as you tell our stories".

 

CNL congratulated the winners and urged them to remain good ambassadors and keep up the spirit of professionalism.

 

The Director, Professional Education, School of Media and Communication, PAU, Mr. Isaac-Ogugua Ezechukwu, who presented the award plague and generator to Comrade Ukah and others on behalf of the Dean of School of Media & Communication, Dr. Mike Okolo, commended the Management of Chevron Nigeria Limited for sponsoring AWARES, which according to him, has transformed the writing skills of Journalists as well as other partners the company has maintained over the years.

 

Your Soaring International Tabloid can report that the Senior Marketing Executive, Professional Education, School of Media and Communication, PAU, Opeyemi Gazali, awardees and their close associates, were among guests that witnessed what was the described as the maiden Chevron Recognition and Rewards event.

 

Highlights of the event, were the presentation of award plaque and generator of the first category to Comrade Ukah and presentation to other journalists in different categories.

 

The congratulatory letter from SMC, dated October 4, 2021 and addressed to Comrade Celestine Ukah, reads thus:
