Chairman of Tisun Management Council in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, Prince David Odeli, has lamented the destruction of Rize FM, 106.7, Warri, by blaze that reportedly started few minutes to 1.00am today, Thursday October 14.

The cause of the inferno, which completely burnt down the studios in the FM, other critical broadcast equipment running into millions of naira and affected the physical structure of the radio station, could not be ascertained as at press time, but some eyewitnesses suspected that the blaze may have been triggered by electrical problem.

In an exclusive telephone chat with Fresh Angle International this afternoon, Thursday October 14, Prince Odeli, who is a development advocate and Master’s Degree holder of Public Administration from the prestigious University of Benin, UNIBEN, Edo State, empathized with the owner of Rize FM 106.7, Warri, Pastor Tony Mene Akpata and staffers of the radio station.

He appealed to the Delta State Government, multi-national and indigenously owned companies as well as public spirited individuals and institutions, to support the management of Rize FM 106.7, Warri, to enable the station come back on air within the shortest possible time, saying the destruction caused by the blaze is capable of sending staffers of the broadcast outfit into the labour market and worsen the economic situation of their families.
