Ex-NAIG President, Edema buries step-father October 22


 

The immediate past two-time National President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Comrade Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, will on Friday October 22, bury his late step-father, Pa. John Kaneye Omabuwa (alias Arayuwa) who died at the age of 69.

 

According to a statement signed by Austin Omabuwa and Ama Omabuwa, on behalf of the family and children, respectively, obsequies will commence Thursday October 21 by 5.00pm with Service of Songs at Unity Baptist Church, 33c Ugbori Road, Warri and will be followed on Friday October 22, with Funeral Service and interment at his residence, No. 3 Ejuri Street, Egbokodo, besides Boluwa Filling Station, Warri, Delta State by 10.00am.

 

Fresh Angle International understands that the corpse of Late John Kaneye Omabuwa, who was birthed by the family of Pa. Eyematuodinwone Tsatsa Omabuwa at Jakpa town and Mama Nene Omabuwa of Ugbege, both in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, will leave Ame Specialist Clinic, 15 Okumagba Avenue, Warri by 7.00am for the funeral service and reception will follow immediately after interment at his residence, 3 Ejuri Street, Egbokodo, besides Boluwa Filling Station.

 

Brief Biography:

 

Late Pa. John Kaneye Omabuwa, was born on August 25, 1952 to Late Pa. Eyematuodinwone Tsatsa Omabuwa and Mama Nene Omabuwa.

 

He was paternally from the Dibofun Uwangue linage of Jakpa in Warri North Local Government Area and Jesse in Ethiope West all in Delta State. Maternally, he was from Ugbege in Warri North and the Gold Coast Ghana. 

 

He is survived by two wives Mrs. Christiana Omabuwa and Mrs. Ovakporaye Omabuwa, 12 Children, Grandchildren, Brothers, Sisters, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

 

He attended Baptist Primary School Sapele from 1959 to 1966. Ofagbe Technical College from 1972 to 1975. 

 

He was employed as a Production Technician Trainee by the then Gulf Oil Company in 1977. The name was later changed to Chevron Nigeria Limited on July 24th 1991. After some years of working, he went back to school to run an OND program in Mechanical Engineering at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) and rounded up his HND in 1997 in the same institution.

He climbed the carrier ladder to become a Supervisor before he voluntarily retired in 2014.

 

One thing he loves so much is education .His passion for education made him seek admission into PTI  when he had already worked in the Oil Company for 12 years with wives and many children.  Education is one legacy he swore to bequeath to his children, and true to his desires, he ensured that all his children are educated to at least first degree level. He fulfilled this desire before his untimely death on September 8th, 2021.

 

He was a complete gentleman to a fault, who respected the beliefs & personalities of others and never discriminated.
