Lawmaker empowers 187 Burutu Indigenes

The member representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Frank Enekorogha has distributed items worth millions of naira as part of his empowerment programme to carter for the needs of over 187 Burutu Local Government indigenes in the area.

Items distributed across the 11 wards in the Local Government Area include 55 tricycles popularly referred to as keke NAPEP, 55 sewing machines and 55 motorcycles. Others include 55 generating sets, 55 clippers and cash to convey the items.

Presenting the items, the Federal Legislator who was represented by the chairman, Frank Enekorogha Campaign Organization, Mr. James Enieketie disclosed that the exercise which is in phases is an opportunity to reach out to the people of the constituency as part of his constitutional obligations to ensure that the electorates are given the quality representation they deserve. “This goes to say that, we are creating an enabling environment for them to strive. It will help them focus their energies and strength to be productive so as to be better ambassadors of themselves and their families, adding “the gesture was to say thank you to the people of Burutu Constituency for their support during my election” Enekorogha stated.

The Federal Lawmaker who said the PDP led administration in the country is delivering the dividends of democracy to the people, advised the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously, even as he assured the electorates that in the subsequent phase to come it will be the turn of those who did not benefit in this round. The Hon. Member also commended the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan for the various projects dotting Burutu Local Government Area and called on the people to support the Governor.

Also speaking, the Burutu Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Pastor Ken Ogoibiri while expressing confidence in the Federal Lawmaker appealed to the people of Burutu Local Government Area to support the party, saying “PDP believes that the interest of the masses come first. The items given is to strengthen their faith in the party,” just as he called on them to see Hon. Enekorogha as their ambassador, noting, “let the deeds of political office holders speak for them in the next year general election,” even as he further maintained that Hon. Enekorogha has touched the lives of the people in the constituency and urged them to vote for credible representatives”.

The apparently excited beneficiaries who could not hold back their joy, thanked the Lawmaker for the gesture, which they say will improve their wellbeing and promised to use them to generate income for their livelihood, just as they prayed for his re-election bid.
