The Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon.  Daniel Omayone Mayuku and the Chief Convener of Delta United For Tony Obuh as well as President Jonathan’s re-election, DUF in 2015, Chief Ayirimi Emami say there is no conflict between DUF and “Project 2015”, insisting that both groups are working towards the same political goals in the 2015 polls.

Hon. Daniel Mayuku and Chief Ayirimi Emami made the clarification at Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri South-West Local Government Area Sunday October 19 at an enlarged meeting of DUF held at the instance of a PDP stalwart, Chief Boro Opudu.

While describing Sir Tony Obuh as their project in 2015, Hon. Mayuku described “Project 2015 as senior brother to DUF” and called on the people of Warri South-West Local Government to throw their weight behind Tony Obuh so as to ensure that Delta State gets a governor after Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s tenure that will strongly support President Goodluck Jonathan from 2015.

Delta State Commissioner for Environment, Chief Frank Omare cautioned against politics of blackmail and described Chief Ayirimi Emami as an indigene of Warri South-West Local Government they are proud of, promising that they will make him “proud at the end of the day”.

A former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Olisa Imegwu who also spoke briefly at the meeting thanked Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for supporting the Tony Obuh project, stressing that Sir Tony Obuh, former Permanent Secretary, Delta State Government House has what it takes to be governor of Delta State from May 2015.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the meeting, Convener of DUF, Chief Ayirimi Emami stated that President Goodluck Jonathan does not have the intention of killing the Ibori political machinery.

Chief Emami stated that the choice of Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi, Chief Ighoyota Amori and Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan as senatorial hopefuls of DUF for the 2015 poll as part of DUF total package agenda is because “these are people that will make PDP win the next election”.

While noting that “Project 2015” will do the technical work for President Jonathan’s re-election and realization of Obuh’s 2015 gubernatorial aspiration, Chief Emami explained that DUF will take the Jonathan/Obuh campaign “door to door” for effectiveness.

According to him, election of Tony Obuh as next governor of Delta State will ensure a continuation of Governor Uduaghan’s “good works” and increased investment in the agricultural sector in line with the Delta Beyond Oil Agenda of the Uduaghan administration.

Our Correspondent reports that DUF members across the 25 Local Government Councils, including past and serving government functionaries attended the meeting.
