The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bomadi Local Government Chapter in Delta State has adopted former Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Broadrick Bozimor as its consensus adhoc National delegate ahead of the party’s primaries, Our Bomadi Correspondent reports
Fresh Angle International can report that the decision was reached at the party secretariat in Bomadi, headquarters of Bomadi Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the newly sworn-in Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Area, Hon. Oluwole Karetimi, Party Chieftains, Women and Youth Groups, including a large crowd of party supporters converged at the party secretariat to give the consensus voice of the party to Bozimor whose choice appears to reflect the best interest of the party at the grassroots.
In a motion moved by the Assistant Secretary of the Party, Godbless Keneke and seconded by the Delta State Chairman of PDP Youth Circuit, Dagidi Andaye ,the ex-Police Minister was unanimously adopted amidst thunderous applauds that expressed their acceptance.
Addressing party members earlier, the new Bomadi Council Chairman stated, “the candidate having jointly agreed by all interest groups of the party, the leadership resolved to adopt him at the grassroots where every stakeholder will be involved to reflect consensus”. He stressed that the decision to adopt Bozimor was to promote internal democracy in the party.
The council boss commended members of the party for their commitment and the orderly manner in which they conducted themselves during the brief ceremony that was witnessed by Warebo Josaphat , representative of the INEC Electoral Officer for Bomadi Local Government, Mrs. Rita Osemeke.
Hon. Karetimi explained, “the interest of the party is above sectional and personal interest. What we have done today is for the interest of the party. We in Bomadi Local Government will continue to work as a family to deliver the party at the general elections in 2015”.
A cross section of the party members who spoke to Fresh Angle International hailed Senator James Manager and Hon. Nicholas Mutu for the peaceful manner the ward congress was conducted.
