Residents, commuters and other critical stakeholders, have blocked a major section of the Benin- Sapele Road in Edo State.
Our Senior Correspondent, who was on his way from Benin City, Edo State, this afternoon, Saturday November 27, after an assignment, reports that the protesters barricaded the entrance of Edo State, demanding immediate fixing of the failed portions of the federal high way.
Speaking exclusively to Fresh Angle International on the failed portion of the highway, Comrade Raymond Omokaro, said they have been on the road for the past four days and won't vacate until the Federal government start fixing the failed portions of the busy road.
He lamented that for the past three years, the Benin Sapele Road have been in bad condition, with no effort by the relevant government agencies to fix it.
He lambasted the Minister of Works, Raji Fashola, describing him as the Minister of Works for North and West of Nigeria.

The road blockade has led to economic loses, including hampering the AKK Gas project as trucks carrying pipes for the mega project, were stranded and tankers loaded with petroleum products were also affected.
