Comply with NASSCO/SOCU RRR validation for cash transfer- Finance Commissioner urges Kogites

The Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris, has urged Kogites to comply with the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office, NASSCO and Kogi State Operations and Coordinating Unit, SOCU, in the ongoing Rapid Response Register, RRR validation for cash transfer. 

 

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the Commissioner, made the call in a statement released to journalists in Lokoja.

 

While noting that the campaign was meant to create awareness of the ongoing validation process, Hon. Idris, stated that the RRR code activation was for the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian, Disaster Management and Social Development in collaboration with Kogi State government, to give out cash transfer. 

 

He disclosed that over 78,000 persons successfully registered online in Kogi State.  

 

"Team of enumerators are currently in the field to validate the successful beneficiary. If you receive a call on your phone, please do comply by meeting them for proper documentation and capturing and further necessary action," the Commissioner advised.

 

He added that the beneficiaries are poor Nigerians in urban and semi-urban areas, currently not benefiting from the National Social Safety- Nets Project, NASSP such as Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT, N-Power and others.

 

While urging beneficiaries to contact the Coordinator of State Operations and Coordinating Unit, SOCU, Dr. Noah Alilu for further information, Hon. Idris, stressed that the programme was designed to target the enrolment of those made poorer and vulnerable by the COVID-19 pandemic, which would be done using cell phone messaging services (SMS) technology.
