An explosion from a fuel - laden barge, has caused extensive damages in the Miller Waterside Area of Warri, Delta State, Fresh Angle International can exclusively report.
Our Correspondent, who visited the scene of the explosion this morning, Monday December 20, reports that the fire which allegedly started from the barge between 10:30 and 11pm Sunday December 19, razed down a filling station by the waterside as well as fabric, drinks, provision and rice shops.
Houses in the neighborhoods and a boat were also burnt, while another filling station by the waterside was partially affected.

The cause of the explosion could not be ascertained as at press time, but some eye witnesses told Your Flagship Niger Delta based Online Newspaper on condition of anonymity that some guys may have left unfinished cigarette close to the barge last night, after the close of work.

Whilst most people in the area declined comments and resisted coverage from Our Correspondent, a provision shop owner who was among the worst hit by the explosion, Mrs. Ada Ejiogu, said she lost goods worth six million naira as a result of the explosion.
