The Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, says the Lekki Deep Seaport is about 80% completed.
Amaechi, who stated this in a tweet yesterday, Saturday January 22 after visiting the project site, disclosed that the last time he visited the deep seaport project site, the quay wall was not visible, just the breakwaters.
He noted that the target is to complete construction before the end of this year, adding that when operational, the Lekki Deep Seaport, will be automated.
"I was at the Lekki deep seaport this morning. The Port construction is about 80% completed. The last time I visited, the Quay wall was not visible, just the breakwaters. But today the top level of the Quay wall is almost ready. Our target is to complete construction before the end of the year.
"When operational, the Lekki deep seaport will be automated. The bulk of documentation would be efficiently done online", the Minister averred.
