The Rotary Club of Effurun City Centre, under District 9141, on Thursday February 3, began its 2021/2022 projects’ execution with tree planting at Ebrumede Secondary and Primary Schools in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

Recall that the Charter President of Rotary Club of Effurun City Centre, Rotn. Patrick Ighomrore, during his installation, had rolled out plans to renovate a three - classroom block at Ogbe Primary School, Effurun, provide 300 desks to schools, give interest - free loan to 50 petty traders, embark on feeding of 50 pupils in a private school for one term and tree planting project in Effurun and environs in the 2021/2022 Rotary Year. 

Fresh Angle International can report that the Charter President of Rotary Club of Effurun City Centre, Rotn. Patrick Ighomrore, who led some members of the Club to Ebrumede Secondary and Primary Schools, disclosed that sometime ago, they came to the schools, to discuss the modalities for executing the tree planting project.

Rotn. Ighomrore, assured the schools of the Club’s willingness to do more as well as partnering with them, whilst advising them not to relent in calling the Club, if the need arises.

The Principal of Ebrumede Secondary School, Mrs. Aloziem Joyce N., appreciated the Club for their kind gesture, while revealing that sometime ago, some schools experienced thunderstorms that damaged some of the building due to lack of protective trees.

 

She added: "We found out that trees help to prevent thunderstorm from building". 

 

The Vice Principal of Ebrumede Secondary School, Mrs. Olokor O. L, commended Rotary Club of Effurun City Centre as well as prayed God to increase the financial strength of members of the Club, to enable the Club carry out more projects. 

 

The Secretary of Rotary Club of Effurun City Centre, Rotn. Crimson Ikpade, while addressing the Headmaster of Ebrumede Primary School, Effurun, thanked the school for their time. 

 

She noted that the tree planting project, was a way to provide shade for the school and the pupils, while praying God for the project to grow to maturity. 

 

Those who spoke during the tree planting exercise, include; the Club Director of Project Service, Rotn. Emmanuel Maduako, the Headmaster of Ebrumede Primary School, Effurun, Mr. Dedevwo Vincent and Head of Department and Agricultural Science of Ebrumede Secondary School, Mrs. Utuedor Edirin.

The Horticulture, Dr. Adaighafua Obue, the School Guidance and Councilor, Mrs. Itua-Sanu Winifred, the Assistant Headmaster, Mrs. Ebeh Mercy and Mr. Chuks Oghior, were among those present during the tree planting exercise.
