He noted that illegal activities by locals that pollute the environment, was different from the damages being caused by oil and gas companies operating in the communities.
According to the Orodje, the communities do not utilize the monies they get from the oil companies judiciously for the development of their areas.
While noting that the communities are the architect of their undoing as a result of corrupt leadership, the Orodje said :"You don't see anything on ground. They take the money given to them by the oil companies for development and use it for themselves.
"We blame government, but the one that's given to us, we are not seeing anything. We blame Buhari, but don't see the wrongs we do to ourselves. We say APC and PDP are bad, but the corruption at the community level, no one is saying anything."
The Orodje, enjoined members of the association to work hard towards educating the people at the community level of the dangers they pose to the environment, especially along the waterways.
