The Council of Elders and Board of Trustees of Uwakeno Community, one of the host Communities of the OML-150 Field in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, have refuted claims by Pa. David Akiuyatsemi that Fidelis Ete Orugboh, is not the Trust Chairman of Uwakeno Community, insisting that: “Mr. Fidelis Ete Orugboh led Trust Executive, were duly inaugurated and the tenure took effect from October, 23rd 2020 for a four (4) year-term and this is in accordance with the Uwakeno Community Constitution 2017”. .
In a statement made available to Fresh Angle International, Monday February 21, by Ugbatin Olare-Aja (Ag Olare-Aja) Pa. Dele Urowayino, Patron/Most Senior Man; Pa. Rogers Okorodudu and three members of Uwakeno Elders’ Council; Pa. Mayomi Boyitie, Pa. Stephen Ajueyitsi and Mr. Benjamin Urowayino, they declared: “Mr. David Olumami Akiuyatsemi is presently under suspension as Olare-Aja of Uwakeno Community, following a vote-of-no confident passed on him in a community general meeting held on 21st November, 2019, due to his anti Uwakeno Community activities. He therefore, do not have any legal right to write for and on behalf of the Community, as his suspension as the Olare-Aja of UWAKENO COMMUNITY remains sacrosanct, pending when his outstanding court case is decided”.
The statement titled, ‘Mr. Fidelis Ete Orugboh remains the Trust Chairman of Uwakeno Community. The Council of Elders and Board of Trustees, Do Not Intend to Change or Replace the Mr. Fidelis Ete Orugboh Led Trust Executive for Whatsoever Reason’, added: “Uwakeno Community Constitution 2017 forbids the Olare-Aja from signing Community documents alone either being for and/or on behalf of the Council of Elders and the entire Community, not to talk of a suspended Olare-Aja Mr. David Olumami Akiuyatsemi whom the entire leadership organs of the Community are currently in court with praying the court for his removal from the office of the Olare-Aja having been imposed on the Community based of false presentations of facts.
“There was never a day that the Council of Elders met (as claimed in the David Olumami’s letter) and disclaim the Communique jointly issued by the Seven Host Communities, in matters affecting the OML-150 Forum.
“Mr. Fidelis Ete Orugboh is a son and a subject to the Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse III and it will remain so until the end of time. Fidelis Ete Orugboh is not against the Olu of Warri or neither did he ever wish to be against the Olu’s decision but the Communities were only agitating for fair hearing and of which Fidelis Ete Orugboh happened to be the Trust Chairman and leader of Uwakeno Community being one of the affected Communities.
“Uwakeno Community/Trust Executives led by Mr. Fidelis Ete Orugboh is under the over-lordship of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, The Olu of Warri.
“The three persons sent to represent Uwakeno Community in the OML-150 Forum are not the duly accredited representatives of Uwakeno Community.
“Emmanuel Afortan (a youth) has never partook in any of our Community activities, neither has he ever attended any of Uwakeno community meetings not to talk of making him the Trust Chairman of our esteemed Community.
“Uwakeno Community’s day-to-day administrative affairs is being run by the Trust executive led by Mr. Fidelis Ete Orugboh, in close consultation with the Council of Elders and the Board of Trustees (BOT).
“Please, the general public should therefore take note that we do not have any Prince Emmanuel Afortan as Chairman of Uwakeno Community Trust and we do not have Central Working Committee in Uwakeno as the Uwakeno Community constitution (2017) do not have such provision in any varies forms and shades.
“The report that Fidelis Ete Orugboh is still a defendant in Customary Court Suit No. WSACC/771/2019 Aginejuone & others vs Charles Omadeli & Others and the case is still ongoing till now. But the lie told to the Olu is that all parties have been reconciled.
“We are urging the general public and the press to kindly disregard any documents emanating from Mr. David Olumami Akiuyatsemi and the said Emmanuel Afortan for and on behalf of the Council of Elders, Trust Executives and Youths executives of Uwakeno Community respectively”.
