Tidi, others support as Warri South Supervisor, Mabiaku, begins empowerment programme

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, Dr. Michael E. Tidi, Deputy Chief Whip of Warri South Council Legislative Arm, Hon. Ighere Totor and PDP Vice Chairman of Okumagba Ward 1, Mr. Tony Aburu, made financial commitments Saturday March 5, when Warri South Council Supervisor for Community Development, Youths, Sports and Culture, Mr. Sunny Omene Mabiaku, began his monthly empowerment programme at Ajamimogha, Warri, with the presentation of ten thousand naira (N10,000.00) each to five aged women.

 

Whilst Warri South Local Government Boss, Dr. Michael Tidi, gave additional ten thousand naira each to two other beneficiaries through his representative, Mr. Peter Tidi, Hon. Ighere Totor and Mr. Tony Aburu, pledged to contribute to subsequent editions of the empowerment programme.

 

In a message, Dr. Tidi, noted that the amount disbursed may be small, but useful if properly invested in petty trade.

 

Benefactor of the programme, Mr. Sunny Mabiaku, in his emotion -laden remarks, recalled how God saved his life in a fatal accident on his way to school last Monday, resulting in the total destruction of his vehicle, but came out with no scratch on his body.

 

Mr. Mabiaku, who thanked Warri South Chairman, Dr. Michael Tidi, for appointing him as Supervisor for Community Development, Youths, Sports and Culture, described Dr. Tidi as a man of the people.

According to him, the Warri South Local Government Area Chief Security Officer, has done a lot in improving the security situation in the local government, particularly during the last yuletide when cult - related threats were nipped in the bud, in collaboration with security agencies in the local government area.

 

Mr. Mabiaku, who also appreciated the Olare - Aja (Eldest Man) of Ajamimogha Community, Pa. James Awani, Youth Chairman of the community, Mr. Scott Awani, a prominent son of the renowned Awani family of Ajamimogha, Mr. Philip Omagbemi Awani and other leaders of Ajamimogha Community, disclosed that the empowerment programme, will also be done in his place of worship (church).

 

He promised that the empowerment programme, will be a monthly exercise, with another batch of five women to benefit next month (April) apart from the support pledged by others, with a new set to benefit in May, two months from now.

 

The Warri South Council Supervisor, added that after the women, the empowerment programme will be extended to aged men and youths, for a period of three months each as well.

 

The Olare - Aja of Ajamimogha, Pa. James Awani, earlier in his remarks, stated: " I am happy, he is being moved by God to do, what he wants to do. This is the first time, I am seeing this gesture from a Supervisor appointed to serve the people."

 

Ajamimogha youth chairman, Mr. Scott Awani, Mr. Philip Awani, Hon. Tuoyo Ebigbeyi Awani and Hon. Ighere Totor, who promised to partner Mr. Mabiaku, all spoke glowingly about the gesture and prayed God to enlarge the political profile of Mr. Mabiaku.

 

Fresh Angle International can report that the five - cum seven aged women that received the cash are; Esther Omajugho, Elizabeth Edukugho, Regina Solomon, Roseline Shandoff, Joy Omote, Beauty Abaji and Gbadamasi Rafatu.

 

Esther Omajugho, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked Mr. Sunny Mabiaku and others, who have committed to support the gesture and prayed God to bless their sources of income.
