A new youth chairman has been elected in Okere, one of the oldest communities in Warri metropolise, Delta State, Fresh Angle International can report.
The newly elected chairman, Comrade Solomon Temile in a swift reaction promised that his administration will create employment and scholarship opportunities for youths of Okere.
Comrade Temile who was declared winner by the Electoral College Chairman, Dr. Godwin Uku at the Okere community town hall in Warri,stressed that he will make sure every indigent child of Okere Community gets the needed assistance when necessary,
He described the election as free, fair and credible and enjoined other members of the newly elected executive to work with him as a team, just as he promised to carry everybody along in his determination to move Okere Community forward.
In his remark, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Dr. Godwin Uku described the election as free, fair, credible and transparent.
Dr. Uku stated that Okere Community is united and advised other communities to emulate Okere so as to experience a peaceful and credible election devoid of violence.
He cautioned against imposition of candidates in any election to avoid rancor.
Our Senior Correspondent reports that the vacant position contested for were 12, while 25 electorates (electoral delegates) participated.
Apart from the newly elected youth chairman, Comrade Temile who won with 16 votes, other members of the newly elected executive are: Vice Chairman-Suru Popo (18 votes) Assistant Secretary-Ogun Parry (15 votes) Secretary-Ogbolomo Lucky (23 Votes) Provost-Oladipo Olaniyi (18 votes) PRO-Eyeno Julius (16 votes) Organizing Secretary-Ogburo Bemigho (16 votes) Financial Secretary- Awani Toju (19 votes) Treasurer-Omagbemi Tosan (15 votes) while there were three ex-officials, namely Ogor Patricia (8 votes) Tuoyo Abi (9 votes) and Temile Nicole Alero (12 votes).
