Abductors of former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Ojere Edeyibo has finally opened communication lines with family members with a demand of a whopping Seventy Million naira ransom.
Family sources told newsmen that contact was made yesterday after days of being kept in the dark as to whether the former legislator was even still alive or not.
The sources appeals for help from well meaning persons to secure the release of their brothers unharmed as they do not have such amount of money to pay.
“They called yesterday Thursday to demand for N70m. We do not have that kind of money anywhere. We are appealing to the kidnappers to release him unharmed. We also want the security services to assist us to get him out”, he said.
Hon. Ojere Edeyibo was kidnapped along the Orerokpe Eku road on Monday by unknown gunmen on his way to Asaba, the Delta State Capital.
Efforts at securing his release has not been successful till even as security authorities reveals that they are on top of the matter, assuring that they would soon secure his safe in due course.
Sources said the abducted legislator is been held by hoodlums welding over 21 AK47 riffles at an undisclosed location.
