Some youths allegedly loyal to Barrister Temisan Omatseye today violently disrupted the Delta State All Progressives Congress, APC governorship campaign at Igbudu Primary School field, along Warri Sapele Road in Warri, few seconds to the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor addressing his supporters.
The fracas which occurred immediately the name of the gubernatorial candidate was announced by the MC, saw the angry youths taking over the podium, dragged the MC down, and dismantled the public address system.
All efforts to calm the rampaging youths believed to be supporters of Barr. Temisan Omatseye whose senatorial ambition is hanging in the balance after purportedly winning the Delta South APC Senatorial Primaries failed, despite soldiers and policemen firing gunshots into the air.
It is believed that some of the youths suffered injuries following the intervention of the security agencies.
The action of the youths, Fresh Angle International gathered is not unconnected with speculations that the APC governorship candidate was instrumental to the substitution of Barr. Temisan Omatseye’s name with that of Prince Yemi Emiko after Barr. Omatseye purportedly won the party senatorial primaries held at Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area.
Our Correspondent reports that supporters of Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor had to flee for their lives and the campaign ground was almost deserted, except for a few party faithful who were heavily guarded by the security men in a canopy and those who were not wearing APC party printed tee-shirts who remained at the venue.
