Delta State based political pressure group, Delta Coalition for Change, DCC has admonished Nigerians, particularly Deltans to vote for candidates in the February 14 and 28 polls based on their credibility, antecedents and track records, stressing that the personality of each candidate should be the yardstick and not the party platform.
President of Delta Coalition for Change, DCC Comrade Young Piero who made the position of group known in a press statement in Warri, Delta State, noted that investigation by DCC reveals that there are credible candidates in the APC, PDP and other opposition parties at elective positions in both the federal and State levels.
While insisting that it is only logical for President Goodluck Jonathan to use his February 4 campaign visit to Delta State to perform the hugely anticipated Ground Breaking Ceremony of Delta Gas City in Ugborodo, DCC, he enjoined the Jonathan administration to display a Pan Niger Delta posture by carrying other ethnic nationalities in the region along in his programmes and policies.
According to the group, the credibility of the APC Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, APC Delta South senatorial hopeful, Barr. Temisan Omatseye and a host of other candidates from the PDP, APC, SDP and other parties for different elective positions, make it imperative for the electorates to reflect deeply on the individual contestants before casting their vote to save the country from the current economic, insecurity and power (electricity) woes.
The group stressed that the time to rewrite the nation’s political history is now hence Nigerians should not treat the forth coming elections with levity.
