Some members of Uvwie Local Government Chapter executive of Peoples Democratic Party, who preferred anonymity,, have uncovered alleged plot by the local government chairman of the party, Elder Efe Okoledo to handpick adhoc delegates ahead of the party primaries, contrary to the PDP constitution.
The exco members, who accused Elder Okoledo of dictatorial leadership, capable of giving the opposition political party the chance to topple PDP in the fast - approaching 2023 elections, told Fresh Angle International: " The Uvwie PDP Chairman, has picked his Vice and ward chairmen, leaving us, the other exco members to our fate.
" Members of the party, want to produce their own three - member adhoc delegates during congress as stipulated by the party, but Elder Okoledo, has planned to choose five leaders from each ward to produce the adhoc delegates, thereby choosing his own delegates, through wrong process."
While claiming that Elder Okoledo," has converted the party to his company " and relegated most of the exco members, the aggrieved party leaders, added : " He prefers to hold meetings with selected exco members and ward chairmen."
They appealed to Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the state party chairman, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, to immediately address the perceived dictatorial tendencies of Elder Okoledo, to save the party from losing its members to the main opposition All Progressives Congress.
