Warri South LEA MPCS records over N8m Surplus in 2021 amid challenge posed by COVID-19

Warri South Local Education Authority Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society, LEA MPCS, has recorded a surplus of over eight million naira, compared to N4,498,596.65 recorded in 2020 as well as increase in share capital to the tune of over 31 million naira in the year under review, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Fresh Angle International can report that this much was disclosed Thursday April 14 by the President of Warri South Local Education Authority Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society, LEA MPCS, Pastor Aganozor Godwin, during the 2021 Annual General Meeting (3rd AGM)  AGM of the society held in Warri, Delta State.

 

While noting that membership of the Cooperative Society, rose from 178 in the year 2020 to 210 in 2021, Mr. Aganozor, commended the Cooperators for their understanding and outstanding contributions, urging them to do more.

 

Pst. Aganozor, described the operational year of 2021 as very eventful and successful in terms of business transactions.

 

The Secretary of Warri South LEA MPC Society, Mrs. Patience Oturu-Toyo, while presenting the Management Committee Report, disclosed that there was increase in outstanding loan and increase in interest of loans, to over eight million naira as well as increase in income from loan forms.

 

Mrs. Oturu-Toyo, said 2021 business year was good and encouraging with increase in all subheads, noting that as at December 2021, the Cooperative had a capital base of about 100 million naira and canvassed for new membership, to enable the prospective cooperators enjoy the dividends of savings.

The Executive Secretary, Local Education Authority, Warri South Local Government, Hon. Wilson Omor, appreciated the Warri South LEA MPCS for, “their well-organized structure”, even as the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT Warri South, Mrs. Gladys Omagbemi and other members of the Cooperative Society, expressed joy over the figures and transparency exhibited by the management team.
