DESOPADEC: Why Ereyitomi’s nomination should be hailed by all- Iwere Political Forum

Pan-Itsekiri Political Pressure group based in Warri, Iwere Political Forum, IPF says Chief Thomas Ereyitomi’s nomination as Commissioner in the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan should be hailed by all Itsekiris, no matter the Local Government of origin, because of Chief Ereyitomi’s Pan-Itsekiri antecedent.

In a statement made available to Fresh Angle International, the group noted that as a businessman, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi has used his resources and business to promote the well-being of the Itsekiri people, regardless of their political affiliation and/or Local Government Area of origin, insisting that Chief Ereyitomi has strongly been at the fore-front of the Itsekiri course.

The statement which was signed by Chairman and Secretary of Iwere Political Forum, Emiko Oghomienor and Suru Popo respectively, noted that while, “it may be germane for the Itsekiri in Warr South to call for the appointment of an Itsekiri from that area, it must be borne in mind that the most important thing in who becomes Commissioner, is the appointment of the right person whose personality and antecedence are Pan-Itsekiri, a person who will work for the good of all Itsekiri”.

Iwere Political Forum stated that Itsekiri have always operated as one and called on all Itsekiris to fully support the nomination of Chief Thomas Ereyitomi as Commissioner in DESOPADEC.

The nomination of Chief Thomas Ereyitomi as Commissioner to represent Itsekiri Nation in the Board of DESOPADEC by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is sequel to the resignation of Hon. Michael Diden who stepped down to pursue his House of Assembly ambition in the April 11 polls on the platform of PDP.
