An armed robbery suspect was on Saturday February 21 killed at P.T.I. Junction, Effurun, near Warri by Police Operatives attached to Ebrumede Division, while other members of his gang escaped, Police report reveals.
According to a Release by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Celestina Kalu, Men of the Ebrumede Division of the force received a distress call from an anonymous caller at about 0400 hours that armed robbers were operating at P.T.I. Junction, on receipt of the report, Anti-Crime Patrol proceeded to the scene.
According to the Police statement, immediately the hoodlums sighted the Police Patrol team, they “opened fire on them, in the process the operatives responded”, leaving one of the hoodlums gunned down and the others escaped.
Items reportedly recovered from the hoodlums include: One cut-to-size double barrel gun, one live cartridge, some jewelries, six Nokia Phones, two Blackberry Phones and one Tecno Phone.
