The National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG under the leadership of Comrade Oritsegbegbemi Ajagbe have joined the call for  President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to match his words with action by coming to perform the much anticipated Ground Breaking Ceremony of Ogidigben EPZ cum Delta Gas City.
Speaking at the association’s last meeting held in Warri, Delta State recently, the NAIG President, Comrade Oritsegbegbemi Ajagbe stated that failure by President Goodluck Jonathan to perform the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Ogidigben EPZ early March as promised when he paid the Olu of Warri a private visit at the Monarch’s Palace in Warri recently, will mean reneging on his promise to the Itsekiri people in particular, people of the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
According to NAIG, President Jonathan’s promise of creating 2 million jobs annually for Nigerians will be further actualized and consolidated through the formal flag-off of the EPZ, noting that it will help the President’s re-election bid.
He noted, “if the EPZ Ground Breaking is performed, it will reduce to great minimal: Youth restiveness, Militancy, Oil Theft and Pipeline Vandalism in the Niger Delta Region. We will like to reiterate that the much acclaimed EPZ project being part of President Jonathan’s achievements is only on paper and has not been translated into reality”.
While calling on all eligible Itsekiri sons and daughters to collect their permanent voter cards, PVCs before INEC”s dead -line of March 8 so that they can vote for the candidates of their choice in the forth-coming polls, the NAIG President appealed to the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan “to resolve all land acquisition/ location of the EPZ (Cum Delta Gas City) project for a smooth and peaceful Ground Breaking Ceremony”.
