Olori - Ebi (head) of the famous Uku Family in Odekporo Quarters, Okere in Warri, Delta State, Mr. Daniel O. Uku, has expressed optimism that the member representing Warri South Constituency II in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, will continue to fly to the top politically, saying: “Na only your name, dem go dey see, so- so Opuoru, we go dey hear for the election”.

Fresh Angle International can report that Olori - Ebi Uku, made the pronouncement at Uku family hall in Okere, Warri, Saturday April 30, when Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, led some of his supporters on a visit to the Uku Family.

 

While praying in Itsekiri language for God to give Hon. Opuoru want he wants, Mr. Uku, added: “You go fly to the top and you go come back, come say thank you”.

 

Renowned Academic and prominent member of Uku Family, Dr. Godwin Uku, in his remarks, stated: “Even before you traveled abroad, you have always been with us. You have always celebrated Okere Juju with us,” assuring Hon. Opuoru of victory in the forthcoming PDP primary and the main election, slated for next year.

Representative of Ogieboro (head) of Okere, Chief E.F. Esisi on Traditional Matters and a member of the Uku Family, Mr. Monday Uku, also prayed for the lawmaker to emerge victorious at the poll, even as another member of the family, Mr. Owen Kwashi-Uku, explained Hon. Opuoru’s relationship to the household.

In his response, Hon. Opuoru, who is seeking a return mandate to the Delta State House of Assembly, averred: “I am very-very overwhelmed by this reception. My coming here is to send a message that I am part of the Uku family. I am contesting for Delta State House of Assembly for a second tenure. Nobody can use Itsekiri to blackmail me, because I am part of Itsekiri. I am like a bridgebuilder. I am part of those uniting Urhobos and Itsekiri. I will do more in my second tenure. After the primary, I will come here, to celebrate with us”.
