Eid -al -Fitr: Hold on to lessons of Ramadan-  Commissioner Urges Muslims

As millions of Nigerian Muslims join their counterparts across the world to celebrate the Eid- al-Fitri, the Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba, has urged Muslims and other Nigerians to celebrate the festival with love and unity.

 

The festival marks the end of the Ramadan fast and is celebrated by Muslims worldwide.

 

In her Sallah message, Buba said She joins Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Muslims “and all other patriotic citizens in the pious expectation that Almighty Allah will hearken to the supplications of the faithful and bless Nigeria even more abundantly with peace, political stability and national prosperity”.

 

She enjoined Muslims to sustain the ideals of the month of Ramadan beyond the Ramadan period.

 

"Ramadan has been a month of deep reflection, introspection and charitable deeds. It is important for all of us as Muslims to reflect on the teachings of the Holy month of Ramadan, which calls for sacrifice, love, forgiveness, and perseverancece. This will enable us achieve enormous reward, while we are still alive and even the world beyond" She added.

 

 

Buba, admonished Muslims to remain steadfast in the worship of Allah and to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad-SAW as they did during the month of Ramadan.

 

The Commissioner, asked Muslims to continue to uphold the ideals of piety, patience, tolerance, perseverance, humility and self denial, which were observed vigorously during the month of Ramadan.
