The newly elected Chairman of Itsekiri Progress Club, IPC, Dr. Tosan Popo, has assured that his leadership, will ensure that more Itsekiri sons and daughters acquire more skills and scholarships as well as get the necessary support, so as to become more self-reliant.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that Dr. Popo, gave the assurance in Warri, Saturday April 30, shortly after the 14th Annual General Meeting cum election of new executive members of IPC, to pilot the affairs of the Club for the next three years.
Dr. Popo, promised that the Club will sustain their mandate of promoting the development of Itsekiri homeland.
The IPC Chairman, a former Permanent Secretary in Delta State Civil Service, said he wants more educational and economic empowerment for Itsekiris.

He listed some achievements of the Club in the past years to include; establishment of Itsekiri Education Trust, provision of scholarships, monitoring activities of some key projects in Itsekiri homeland, such as the Trans-Warri Ode-Itsekiri Bridges and Access Road and Koko-Ogheye Road, to make sure the projects are executed to specification.
The Publicity Secretary of IPC, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, in an exclusive interview with Fresh Angle International, described the Club as a veritable tool for espousing the aims and objects of the existence of Itsekiri, via interaction with government and other relevant stakeholders.

While thanking God at the Foursquare Gospel Church in Ekurede-Itsekiri, Warri, for the success of their 14th AGM and election of new leadership, the immediate past Chairman of the Club, Chief (Engr.) Tony Onuwaje, prayed God for more thanksgiving in their lives and for the Lord’s grace upon them, as they carry on with the resolve to serve their father land.
The Senior Pastor of Foursquare Gospel Church, Ekurede-Itsekiri, Rev. Samson Alawode, prayed God to bless and protect members of IPC as they continue their service to humanity.
Other members of the newly elected executive of IPC are: Chief Patrick Yalaju; Vice Chairman, Mr. Godwin Timeyin Okotie; Secretary, Mr. Simeon Iluwa; Assistant Secretary, Chief Solomon Arenyeka; Publicity Secretary, Dr. Duakpenmi Andrew Ayu; Financial Secretary/Treasurer, Engr. The member representing Warri South Constituency I in Delta State House of Assembly, Dr Augustine Uroye and Sir Emmanuel Abigor, were among prominent members of the Club that graced the AGM cum election and thanksgiving service.
