Female granite seller escapes death

A granite seller, Mrs. Grace Uvo yesterday escaped death at about 10:30am when one of the front tyres of a P.O.C Table Water Truck on high speed (with Registration Number EFR 56XA, DELTA) pulled off, making the out-of-controlled truck to destroy the plastic chair Mrs. Uvo usually  sits on, just as she ran for safety.

Our Correspondent reports that the incident occurred at the NPA Expressway, under the Ogunu flyover in Warri, Delta State.

According to an eye witness, Mrs. Grace Ufuoma, did not sustain any injury, but was taken to a Hospital for check up as a result of the shock.

“The truck dey on high speed, once na the tyre pull comot dey run go where she sit down put, she con start to dey run for her life ooo, make the tyre no go hit am, but she no injure ooo, na because of the shock naim make dem carry her go General hospital for check up ooo, Come see the tyre wey pull comot na be this, see the chair when the tyre shatter”, the eye witness told Our Correspondent.

The P.O.C Water Truck

Three workers on board the truck, Victory Ubido, Gift Precious, Progress Okoro and the driver of the truck, Jerry Philip, told Fresh Angle International that they were on motion when one of the front tyres of the truck pulled off and made the driver lose control.

Another eye witness, Mrs. Bekky Idoko, whose husband’s car was used to convey Mrs. Grace Uvo to the Hospital, disclosed that there were three persons, including her husband and the driver of their car that took the victim to hospital, stressing that her husband asked the driver to follow them to pay any bill that will be required to ensure that the granite seller will be in good health.

Husband of the victim, Mr. Moses Uvo, who later visited the hospital his wife was taken to for medical attention, claimed that the doctor told him his wife sustained fracture on her head following result of a scan. “The doctor said that my wife sustained fracture on her head after scanning and he referred us to another hospital for proper medical treatment”.
