A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta South Senatorial District and member of Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, UBRBA, Alero Naomi Tenumah, has commended Itsekiri leaders in the APC such as Dr. Alex Tosan Ideh, Chief Ayirimi Emami, Sir A.S Mene, Engr. Tuoyo Omatsuli, Barr. Wilson Alatsa, Mr. Alex Eyengho, Mr. Evans, Barr. Omasan .M. Agbajoh and the younger Itsekiris in the party, for working in unison towards the success of the just concluded APC Presidential Primary, which produced former Lagos State Governor, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu as the party’s Presidential candidate.

Senator Tinubu, reportedly polled 1,271votes to defeat the immediate past Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other APC Presidential aspirants.

While Rotimi Amaechi garnered 316 votes to emerge first-runner up, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Dave Umahi, scored 235, 152, 47and 38 votes, respectively, leaving other contestants with little or no votes.

Tenumah, who spoke to Fresh Angle International this afternoon on telephone from Abuja, immediately after the APC Presidential Primary, expressed happiness that despite the differences in the choice of Presidential aspirants among the Itsekiri APC leaders and youths prior to the primary, they respected each other’s opinion and worked in peace and harmony, in the resolve to ensure the ruling party produced a flagbearer that is acceptable to all.

While emphasizing the need for APC members to close ranks and work towards ensuring that Senator Tinubu wins the presidential election slated for the first quarter of next year, 2023, the former Delta South APC Women Leader, advised Itsekiri leaders in the party: “Forgiveness is important for us now, because of our collective interest as a people”.
