Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, Dr. Michael Tidi, has outlined the virtues of Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, saying he remains the best bet for the position of PDP’s Presidential running mate, if the party must win the Presidential election next year.
Governor Okowa, has been a top contender to be picked as Vice Presidential Candidate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, PDP Presidential Candidate for the 2023 polls, with speculations rife that the main opposition political party, would pick its Presidential running mate today, Tuesday June 14, ahead of the Friday June 17 deadline handed down by INEC for all political parties to upload the names of their Presidential and Vice-Presidential Candidates on its portal.
In a terse statement issued this morning, Tuesday June 14, Dr. Tidi posited: “IAO (Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa) remains our party’s best bet, if we must win the presidential election.
“Let’s hope that our leaders would be willing to interrogate our history and be conscious of the enormous sacrifices IAO have made.
“IAO is a distinguished patriot and man of legendary fidelity, who had through his nationally-acknowledged integrity and strong drive for an equitable, just and egalitarian society, become a respectable voice in Nigeria’s polity”.
