Mutu wins Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency Seat

As Nigerians keenly await the outcome of the Presidential and National Assembly elections held weekend, the result of the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency contest shows that the incumbent, Hon. Nicholas Mutu of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP takes a clear lead with a landslide victory, just as James Manager clinches the 2 Local Government Areas for the Delta South Senatorial contest.

Results from the collation centre at the Olou Primary School Bomadi, the preliminary declaration by the Returning Officer, Dr Uriegho Joel shows that Albert Turu PDM-63, Omou Peres ADC- 2,932, Frances Seikorogha APC-346, Nicholas Mutu PDP- 67,462, and Tom Preye SDP-5. The result also shows that Senator James Manager, the Delta South Senatorial candidate for the PDP clinched the two Local Government Areas.

Our Bomadi Correspondent reports that collation of result could not commence after a peaceful exercise on Saturday as results from the polling units were awaited into Sunday. Party agents and supporters of the various candidates including the Publicity Secretary of PDP, Hon. Deinghan Macaulay amongst others waited patiently when the results were being compiled.

According to the Returning Officer, “the PDP candidate having polled the highest votes cast and having satisfied the law, by the powers conferred on me, Mutu is hereby declared winner and returned as elected in the 2015 National Assembly election for the Bomadi/Patani Federal constituency”.

Speaking shortly after declaring the result, erstwhile Chairman of Patani Local Government Area and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on NDDC Matters, Barr. Brave Oyinkuro while highlighting the achievements of Mutu, said the Federal Lawmaker “deserves the win”, just as he called on losers to accept the outcome of the election in the spirit of sportsmanship.
