Robbers go on rampage in Warri, as youths nab four for attempted robbery

Armed robbers went on rampage in the Oil City of Warri last night, shooting at-least eight persons, snatching a Toyota Camry car with Registration Number LSR812 AR belonging to one Mr. Eyikimi Endurance Spencer and stealing mobile phones, cash as well as other valuables from their victims between 7 and 8pm, Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.

A very credible source who could not ascertain if the series of robbery last night in places like Olu of Warri Palace Junction, Okere Market Area and Deco Junction were carried out by just a gang of armed robbers, disclosed that the eight persons shot along Deco Junction in Warri were hit by bullets when Mr. Eyikimi Spencer whose car was stolen, raised alarm and passers-by attempted to gather in solidarity.

The dare devil robbers reportedly shot into the crowd of sympathizers and successfully made away with their loot.

In a related development, there was mild drama at Ogun-Obite quarters in Okere, Warri yesterday when attempts by a five-man gang who allegedly came in tricycle attempted to rob wife of Chukwu Emami, younger brother of Chief Ayirimi Emami.

 Their victim who allegedly came out of her car, raised alarm and the robbers who were not aware that the car starts with the finger print of its owner had to run for their lives when vigilant Okere youths came to the scene.

While one of the hoodlums was said to have escaped, the other four members of the gang ran into a nearby swamp and youths in the area who laid seize waiting for them to come out, knowing that the hoodlums won’t find any escape route later apprehended four of them that came out in trickles, beat and handed them over to the Police at ‘A’ Division Warri.

Meanwhile, feelers indicate that pregnant wife of the kingpin of the kidnappers that abducted Mrs. Caroline Botosan, wife of Ugborodo leader, Mr. Isaac Botosan has been arrested by the Police alongside her son, while there has been no communication from the fleeing kidnappers on the where-about of Mrs. Botosan.
