How Botosan’s wife escaped from kidnappers’ den after one week

After spending a gruesome nine days in kidnappers’ den at Usiefrun Forest in Ughelli South Council Area of Delta State, Mrs. Caroline Botosan finally escaped to safety around 7: am today and found her way to Usiefrun/Orhughworhum junction from where she put a call across to her husband through a ‘Good Samaritan’.

The visibly frightened woman told Our Correspondent her abductors left her alone, believing that with her hands and legs chained together she can’t escape. She said since she knew where they usually kept the key to the padlock she struggled to the point, got the key and unlocked the padlock and walked out of the bush to safety.

The jubilant husband, Mr. Isaac Botosan told Our Correspondent, “when my wife got into town, she approached a woman and explained her predicament, pleading with her to call her husband mobile phone number which she gladly oblige, describing her location at Orhughworhum” .

Mr. Botosan then stormed the location with armed Policemen to pick his wife up and drove straight home to their residence in Warri to the waiting hands of a jubilant Okere Community, where dancing and praises to Almighty God for her freedom rented the atmosphere immediately.

It would be recalled that a gang of four armed men stormed the Okere community last Wednesday, April 15, 2015 and abducted Mrs. Botosan, taking her to an unknown destination, but one member of the gang was caught by the community youths while trying to escape with their Toyota Venta car and handed over to the police, even as another member of the gang was picked up at Agbarho later same day.

The arrested kidnapper then led police anti-kidnap crack team to the home of their leader simply identified as “Biggy” at Agbarho Community, where some arrests were made.
