Ayirimi Emami-Epitome of Selflessness, Michael Tidi
Chief Ayirimi Emami

Man, inherently may be selfish. Resources may be indisputably scarce. Nonetheless, living for others by way of sharing what one has with the needy, morally, is the essence of how to live right. Chief Ayirimi Emami is evidently a perfect example of responsible citizenry and corporate personality who practices to the letters on humanitarian principle of giving back to the society and making it a better place, with proceeds of his dedication, hard work and success.

He is a natural and cheerful giver, who meets people’s needs without qualms and hesitation. His giving spree trickles to all and sundry, as could be glean from several largesse consistently allotted to scholars, entertainers, and sportsmen alike.

Chief Ayirimi came from a very humble background, through a discipline and religious parents, who nurtured him to be honest, hardworking and aim to the sky, a caveat which later found fulfillment when at barely 28years, the erstwhile Governor of Delta State got him appointed into the then famous Board of Niger Cat Construction Company; improved himself further and subsequently delved into the Oil and Gas sector, where he is today regarded as a key player.

Having etched his foot in this priced sector, Bash Oloye (as he is fondly called by friends and all) has this time around cash in on his higher flight altitudes to attain more heights in the hemisphere of corporate, social and political leadership.

From Delta, his home State, like other States in Nigeria and abroad, the jovial and energetic business kingpin has an endless retinue of admirers and followers, who came together to celebrate the life of a man they agreed has impacted on them in very different but positive way. By virtue of his background as a community leader, Chief Ayirimi seems naturally programmed to be a socialite.

He looks it and plays the part. Anyone who had closely observed him over the years would certainly agree with the view that he is a very resourceful businessman in the similitude of the description of having the Midas touch. Midas touch was in the Greek mythology, a Phrygian King who turned everything it touched into gold. But, whilst Midas got the inspiration from the Greek god, Chief Ayirimi owns his rare gifts to God Almighty.

His versatility in his endeavors, including his sprawling business empire has won him fame within and outside the country, so much so that his inputs are sought for and visible in many area of human progress. Name it; corporate world, politics, community development, sports, entertainment, educational development, philanthropy, environment, etc.

Like the Octopus, Chief Ayirimi is relentless in expanding on the limits. Records has it that he scouts for talented youths and silently nurtures them to corporate and political leadership positions without any strings attached, but with the sole aim of turning them around to better the society.

It is a common spectacular feature to see men and women from different political divides milling around this true son of the Niger Delta for support and inspiration. Even though he is currently of the All Progressive Congress (APC) stock, he is a politician who plays politics without bitterness, as he relates with and inspires lot of people from other political parties.

In April 2012, this famous son of Itsekiri joined the exalted league of titled Chiefs with the appellation; “Uwa-oyibo-yami, alias Akulagba of Warri Kingdom” in recognition of his outstanding and visionary leadership in building critical manpower and human capital. So prominent is he that his annual birthday celebration is done with fanfares and colors, like his 40th, which he just celebrated.

At 40, the age that combines youthful verve with maturity, we know he has even more to give. He has practically manifested Abraham Lincoln’s assertion that: “it is not the years in your life that counts; rather, it’s the life in your years”. An opportunity such as his birthday affords lovers of good deeds the privilege of saying well done to this social crusader.

There is no time more fitting to commend a man who has proven that he is a truly patriotic and committed leader who desires the emancipation and development of his people.  I wish Chief Ayirimi Emami many happy returns on this occasion of his 40th birthday and pray for God’s continued blessings on him as he expends himself in the service of Itsekiri , Delta state and indeed Nigeria.

BASH OLOYE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR!
