UGBORODO COMMUNITY COUNCIL OF ELDERS

PUBLIC NOTICE

August 2, 2022

END OF THE 3-YEAR TENURE OF THE UGBORODO COMMUNITY TRUST (UCT) UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF AUSTIN OBOROEGBEYI ESQ

We bring you warm greetings from Ugborodo Community.

1. This is to inform the International Oil Companies (IOCs), particularly Chevron Nigeria Limited and Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, Government at all levels, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), traditional institutions and the general public, that the 3-year tenure of the Ugborodo Community Trust (UCT) under the Chairmanship of Austin Oboroegbeyi, Esq., came to an end today, August 2, 2022. The said UCT came onboard at Ode-Ugborodo on August 3, 2019.

2. On behalf of the entire good people of Ugborodo Community, the Council of Elders hereby thank the outgone UCT for their services to Ugborodo Community in the last three years. May God Almighty and our ancestors reward them accordingly, even as we wish every one of them good luck in their future endeavours.

3. However, because nature abhors a vacuum and in tandem with relevant sections of the Constitution of Ugborodo Community, the Council of Elders shall from August 3, 2022, take over the administration of the community in the interim for the next few months until when a proper administrative organ shall be constituted for the community. For this reason, therefore, all dealings with Ugborodo Community by third parties including the IOCs, for now, should be done directly with the Council of Elders.

We thank you for your understanding and maximum cooperation. May God bless us all.

Warmest regards,

Benson Dube Omadeli

(The Olaja-Orori of Ugborodoland).

Prince Perry Atete

(The Igbajor of Ugborodo).

Pa Anderson Ebiekutan

(Secretary, Council of Elders).
