A new pro-APC political pressure group, South-South for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, SOSOBAT, has commenced “Operation Pick Up Your PVC for Tinubu and Omo-Agege”, vowing to actualize APC continuity at the Federal level and taking over of governance in Delta State come 2023.

Fresh Angle International can report that the Coordinator of SOSOBAT in Warri South-West Local Government Area in Delta State, Erefoluwa Keka, who flagged off the “Operation Pick Up Your PVC for Tinubu and Omo-Agege”  Friday August 26 at Ugborodo, Warri South-West Local Government Area, explained the advocacy was targeted at ensuring, “all-round victory for the 2023 Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) / Kashim Shettima Presidential mandate and Ovie Omo-Agege / Friday Osanebi imminent take-over bid of Delta State Government House”.

Keka, noted: "This gathering is a crucial moment to deliberately enlighten our party men and women, on the importance of collecting their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, when INEC starts another round of PVC collection. We started this advocacy for good governance, since 2021.

“It is pertinent to note that since 1998, riverine communities in Delta State, have contributed earnestly to the success of elections. Warri South-West Local Government Area, has produced the highest votes, even when some of us were in PDP, before the emergence of APC in 2014 and a lot of us defected to the ruling APC.  Warri South-West LGA in the 2019 elections, gave the highest votes to APC in Delta State.

“We have also contributed greatly as it concerns natural resource, as we play host to multinationals such as Chevron Nigeria Limited and CNL, Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC. We also contribute greatly to aquaculture in the state, thereby promoting non-oil export.

“We are a peace-loving people, the multi-national oil and gas companies operating in our communities, can attest to this fact.

Chief Mike Odeli, speaking

“I will tell you why I’m well pleased today to give this speech, it is not just because I’m a party-man, but a core proponent of Tinubu/Shetima and Agege/Osanebi candidacies. I have several reasons to speak to you today, amongst which are the following;

·         The actualization of APC continuity at the federal level and taking over of governance in Delta State

·         The relatively calm security situation we are enjoying in the riverine/coastal areas of Warri South-West Local Government Area

·         The belief that APC candidates, when voted into power, will tremendously take governance to the nooks and crannies of the riverine areas and also deliver in human capital development”.

While stating that people in Warri South-West, particularly in the riverine area, “have not benefited from the current Delta State government and have been treated poorly”, with most of their graduates unemployed, the Coordinator of SOSOBAT in Warri South-West, added: “We are suffering from environmental pollution/degradation an ocean surge. Our people, can no longer embark on our traditional fish farming as our homes are being washed away and we don’t have potable water. There is lack of electricity.

Some of the APC faithful & non-members of the party present

“There are no motorable internal roads in our communities. NDDC has abandoned a lot of the shore protection contracts in our communities, that were awarded many years ago.

“This goes to show that our people are living below the economic standard of any country in Africa and the rest of the world”.

He said: “The emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu / Kashim Shettima and Ovie Omo-Agege / Friday Osanebi candidacies, give we in Warri South-West hope come 2023, because we are sure of their victory.

“Our people are also excited with the stellar leadership qualities displayed by the likes of: Chief Ayirimi Emami, Dr. Alex Ideh, Prince Yemi Emiko, Mr. Alex Eyengho, Comrade Tunde Okorodudu, Sir. A.S. Mene, Hon. Temi Harriman, Chief Michael Johnny and Engr. Tuoyo Omatsuli, among others.

“We are equally excited that the incoming First Lady, is our sister & mother as she hails from the riverine areas of Delta State.

“We want to use this opportunity to enjoin our people, to put their trust in the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu / Kashim Shettima and Ovie Omo-Agege /Friday Osanebi come 2023, we are not afraid of the unknown”.

A Chieftain of the APC in Delta State and the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami, while addressing the gathering, assured: if we work together, to make APC candidates win, our area will experience improved development. Anybody, who wants to contest election and refuse to come over to the riverine area to campaign, should not be voted for

If Tinubu wins the Presidency, we will get Atlantic City in Escravos (Ugborodo). He will provide jobs for our people and build floating stations in our riverine communities”.

Chief Mike Odeli, Prince David Iwere, Comrade Collins Ebieto, Comrade Alero Tenumah and Comr. Solomon Ashekum, were among APC leaders that addressed the gathering, urging members and non-members of the APC present, to go and check their names on the INEC notice board, so as to ensure there are no errors in their voter cards.
