‘15 beneficiaries’ under the auspices of Concerned Youths of Dibi Field Communities, on Monday September 12, began protest at Jee Jay International Limited Office in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area and Dibi Field Station in Tisun Community, Warri North Local Government Area, both in Delta State, over stipends allegedly being owed them for the past 3years.

The aggrieved beneficiaries, who were still protesting at the company’s office/location Thursday September 15, when this report was filed, were addressed by the Director and Legal Affairs Manager of Jee Jay International Limited, Mr. Efe Osharode (Director) and Wesley Bawo Edema Esq, respectively.

The company’s representatives, reportedly told the protesters: “We actually rented the two WILLCO Swamp Buggies from Viv Nig. Ltd and Sonic Platinum Nig Ltd. 3 years now. We are even in court (With Chevron Nigeria Limited). Aside that, we have been in direct talks and correspondence with Chevron in respect of the matter. We got reports from Chevron that the equipment was burnt at their work location. The latest proposal to them was for Chevron to evacuate the equipment to us in Warri, so we can possibly refurbish them and hand them over to the owners. No news from Chevron till date”.

Efforts by This Newspaper to extract reaction from an official of PGPA Department of Chevron Nigeria Limited, via telephone call, was unsuccessful as at the time of this report, even as the communities’ beneficiaries, insisted, “we have exhausted our patience over this ugly development”.
