Itsekiri youths across the world under the aegis of Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC have lauded the inauguration of Muhammadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as Governor of Delta State, saying the combination of the duo hold great promise for Nigeria in general and Delta State in particular.
In a statement issued today shortly after the inauguration, the First Vice President of INYC, Richard Eyiangho, Secretary of the body, Oritseweyinmi Eyitemi, PRO II, Edema Oti and Welfare Officer, Emiko Awala, the Itsekiri youth body described the inaugural speeches of President Buhari and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as indication as well as strong assurances of visionary governance geared towards the desired change Nigerians and indeed Deltans have been yearning for.
While also expressing their felicitation to the newly sworn-in Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and the new Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, the INYC executive promised to partner with the new leadership at both the Federal and State levels in their quest at building a Nigeria where hard-work, creativity and merit will hold sway.
They appealed to the Buhari and Okowa administrations to lay emphasis on the development of the oil bearing communities, especially Itsekiri coastal communities, insisting that it is time for the peace loving Itsekiri Nation to reap genuine dividends of democracy in both human capital and infrastructural development.
