Sanitation: Warri South Council announces restriction of movement



Authorities of Warri South Local Government Council, have announced restriction of movement for the monthly environmental sanitation exercise fixed by the Delta State Government for tomorrow, Saturday September 24.

According to a statement by the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael E. Tidi, only persons on essential duties, would be allowed to move freely on major roads and streets in Warri South between the hours of 7am and 10am that the exercise will last.

The statement, e-signed by the Warri South Council Supervisor for Environment, Mr. Omawumi Elete on behalf of Dr. Michael Tidi, emphasized that restriction of pedestrian and vehicular movements, will be enforced.

The statement added: “People of Warri South Local Government Area, are advised to clean-up their premises, cut overgrown weeds, desilt their drainages and keep their environment clean, to prevent unwanted diseases.

“Officials of the Delta State Ministry of Environment, Warri South Local Government Council, the State Taskforce on Environment, Anti-Cult Volunteers and relevant security agencies, would be enforcing strict compliance and evacuation of the resultant refuse, to approved government dump sites”.
