A wild jubilation broke out in the Senate Chambers on Tuesday morning as Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Dr. Bukola Saraki, was elected President of the 8th Senate, unopposed.
The motion for his nomination was moved by Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima and seconded by Senator Dino Melaye.
After accepting the nomination of his colleagues, Mr. Saraki was immediately called to the seat of the President of the Senate where the oath of office was administered on him by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Abubakar Salisu Mai-Kasuwa.
Fresh Angle International can report that the purported election of Saraki as Senate President came simultaneously with a meeting President Muhammadu Buhari was having with the APC Senators loyal to the party leadership and the candidacy of Ahmed Lawan at a separate venue in Abuja.
The implication of this brewing controversy is that most APC senators did not undergo the controversial inauguration thus creating a fresh constitutional crisis.
