You’ve saved parents from depression, LG Boss tells JCI

Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area in Delta State, Hon. Paul Etagor says the Warri Chapter of Junior Chamber International, JCI has saved less disadvantaged parents from depression by donating bags, sandals, uniforms, books, stockings, other forms of educational support and provisions to support over 100 indigent pupils of Eghereka Primary School, Ewu-Urhobo, Ughelli South Local Government Area.

The Ughelli South Local Government Boss, who was represented by the Council’s Supervisor for Environment and Agriculture, Mr. Sylvester Uzoh, appealed to JCI to extend the gesture to other schools in the Local Government Area in order to impact positively on other disadvantaged pupils.

In his remark, President of JCI Warri Chapter, Asare Michael Segun commended the school management for providing a conducive environment for the presentation, disclosing that the exercise is in commemoration of JCI 100 years anniversary climaxing September 2015 in Japan.

Mr. Asare promised to initiate programmes that will impact positively on teaching and learning in schools so long as his leadership is able to muster more resources, even as he commended the steadfastness of other JCI, especially the Vice President, South-South and South-East of JCI, Anthony Egonu for making the donation a huge success.

The Head Teacher of Eghereka Primary School, Ewu-Urhobo, Mrs. Helen Johnny in and address, thanked JCI Warri-Chapter for the kind gesture and gave plaudits to the Queen of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom, Queen Jabin Kategoro Ogaga for facilitating the donation.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that Secretary to Local Education Authority in Ughelli South Local Government, Dr. Solomon Ala, representative of the Chief Inspector of Education in the Local Government, Ruth Otuedon as well as the Spokesman (Otota) of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom, Chief Michael Okpone were among key stakeholders that graced the presentation, which also attracted members of JCI from different Chapters.
