Okere-Urhobo Political Forum, OPF, a social-political pressure group based in Warri, Delta State has described on-going efforts by Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to create 6,000 jobs through agriculture and skills’ acquisition programmes as big relief to youths in the state and capable of boosting the economy as well.
The group which is led by the immediate past Commissioner for Special Duties, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru and has the Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Sunday Aguweye, former Warri South Transition Committee Member, Mr. Alex Eda, Ex- Chairman of Okere-Urhobo CDC, Mr. Emmanuel Eminokanju as well as Onome Egboro among others, described Dr. Okowa’s speech during the commissioning of Lee Oasis Supermarket in Warri as a welcome development.
They averred that the huge turnout of Okere-Urhobo people and other guests at the commissioning is “clear indication of governor Okowa’s overwhelming support and popularity in Okere-Urhobo”.
OPF enjoined the governor not to be distracted by his resolve to create other economic frontiers in Delta State, especially in the area of agriculture, particularly against the backdrop of the Nation’s economic difficulties occasioned by the slide in crude oil price as well as its glut in the international market.
They commended Chairman of Okere-Urhobo Youths, Mr. Cyril Eboh for working in synergy with security agencies in the area to provide a conducive environment for the governor’s visit, insisting Okere-Urhobo is in support of Dr. Okowa’s SMART agenda.
