WAEC: Ondo recorded highest pass rate in 2021, despite spending N365.30 per student


Credible research organization, BudgIT, says Ondo State had the highest pass rate of 75.41% in the 2021 West African Examination Council, WAEC examination, despite having the lowest spending of N365.30 per head (per student).

This much was obtained this morning, Thursday September 29, by Fresh Angle International from the verified twitter handle of BudgIT.

According to BudgIT’s report, at least 80% of students who wrote WAEC in Bayelsa, Kano, Abia and 15 other states, passed with at least 5 credits, including English and Maths in 2021.

“States like Osun, Kwara & Yobe recorded, between 55% & 32% pass rates, while Zamfara sits at the bottom with just a 9% pass rate.

With a N3,506 investment per head, Enugu ranked highest, with 93.9% performance. Bayelsa, which had the highest investment per head —N9,004—ranked 9th, with 86.38% performance.

“Zamfara, which spent N1,526 per head, had an abysmal 9.15% performance” the report, revealed.
