The Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC led by Comrade Esimaje Awani has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing renowned academic and legal icon, Prof. Itse Sagay to head the seven-man Presidential Advisory Committee on anti corruption, describing the move as further testament of the Buhari administration’s resolve to abide by the rule of law in the prosecution of looters of the Nation’s treasury and those found wanting in the fight against corruption.
In a statement signed by First Vice President of INYC, Comrade Richie Eyiangho and made available exclusively to Fresh Angle International, the Itsekiri Youth body asserted, “the choice of Mr. President to pick Prof. Sagay to head the committee to advise the present administration on the prosecution of the war against corruption and the implementation of required reforms in Nigeria’s criminal justice system is a laudable one, as Prof. Sagay is a man of honour with unquestionable character”.
The statement also gave plaudits to the President for ordering the clean-up of Ogoni which was polluted by SPDC operations many years ago and expressed optimism that the gesture by the Buhari administration would soon be extended to other parts of the Niger Delta affected by similar spill and oil exploration activities.
The INYC expressed support for the President’s fight against corruption and enjoined him not to leave any stone unturned in the anti corruption war.
