One-time Chief Whip of Warri South Legislative Arm and immediate past Executive Secretary of Local Education Authority, Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Griftson Timeyin Omatsuli has thrown his weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption, stressing that “it is the only sure way to revitalize the Nation’s ailing economy”.

The former House of Assembly aspirant and community leader made the declaration in a chat with newsmen in Warri while reacting to comments credited to some political leaders on the president’s anti corruption stance.

Hon. Omatsuli posited that efforts by President Buhari to sanitize the petroleum sector and make the economy more viable “would be strongly boosted with the appointment of Engr. Abubakar Yar’ Adua, a former GMD as well as GED of NNPC as Petroleum Minister”.

According to Hon. Omatsuli, during Engr. Abubakar Yar’ Adua’s service as Area Manager of PPMC and later GMD of NNPC, the corporation was free from all manner of corruption, crude oil theft, fuel scarcity and controversial payment of subsidy, insisting that “the refineries worked in their optimum capacity and the capacity of local contractors were strengthened”.

He described Engr. Yar’ Adua as “an intelligent, experienced and incorruptible gentleman with the potential of creating more jobs in the oil industry and complementing President Muhammadu Buhari’s on-going reform in the NNPC”.

The former lawmaker commended the President for appointing Prof. Itse Sagay as Chairman of the Advisory Panel on anti corruption.
