Current National President of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayodele Joseph Oritsejafor has revealed that over 30 churches have been closed as a result of the continued onslaught of Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

Pastor Oritsejafor who is also the President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN made the disclosure Sunday May 27 at his Word of Life Bile Church in Warri, Delta State.

According to him, the dreaded Islamic sect has devised a quiet means of killing Christians in Maiduguri, Kaduna and other parts of Northern Nigeria so as to avoid any counter attack from the Joint Task Force, JTF. The widely travelled preacher told his congregation that members of the sect have now resorted to the strangulation of Christians or outright slit of their necks.

He further noted that many Christians in the North have stopped going to church services as a result of possible attack by members of Boko Haran who have continued their vicious attacks despite security measures to stop their operations.

The CAN President declared that in a bid to tackle the sect who according  him is controlled by dark spiritual forces, his leadership has declared Thursday June 14 as a National day of prayer for all Christians in Nigeria. Pastor Oritsejafor who stated that he would rather not comment further on his depth of knowledge regarding the activities of the Islamic sect, enjoined members of his congregation to embark on a week-long fasting from Monday June 11 through Sunday June 17.
The series of attacks by Boko Haram in parts of Northern Nigeria has left many confused as to what their real agenda is, as pockets of Moslems have also be killed by members of the sect.
