Public spirited individuals make case for Prime Vocational Institute, Kwale

Public spirited individuals and corporate bodies have been enjoined to partner with Senator Ifeanyi Okowa led administration in the State in order to achieve the SMART agenda of the government which is geared towards wealth creation and prosperity for all Deltans. 

Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Austin Chikezie made the call during commissioning of the Permanent Site of Prime Vocational Institute Kwale, the headquarters of the Ndokwa West Local Government Area. 

While commending the proprietor of the institution, Mr. Joseph Ebinum, the Agric boss  noted that most institutions that are striving today does not  have the facilities on ground in the PVI in the beginning and charged spirited individuals and corporate bodies to support the institution to enable it realize it set goals and vision. 

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Godwin Ossai said he was proud of the founder of the school, Mr. Ebinum for his initiative, pointing out that skills are needed to be acquired along with knowledge to boost the economic base of any nation, as is the case with global big economies like Japan and China. 

"From what I saw on ground PVI is likely to translate into a polytechnic given the right atmosphere and desired direction." He added. 

On his part, the Chairman Board of Governors of the institution, Obi of Ejeme kingdom, HRM, Godwin Nzemeke who traced the history of the institution, said PVI which started as Utagba-Uno Vocational Enterprise Institute came on board in early 2008, and got her accreditation and approval the same year from the National Board for Technical Education Board NBTEB and Federal Ministry of Education respectively. 

"PVI which started with twelve pioneering students and fifteen members of staff has grown appreciably; the institution was among twenty approved training centres across the nation to train youths from the Niger Deltans and the amnesty programme. I urged the patronage of well meaning individuals and corporate bodies because the institution is fully accredited by JAMB and CBT exams." The Monarch stated. 

In a brief exhortation,  Venerable Nwafili who represented His Lordship,  Bishop David Obiosa, the Bishop of Ndokwa Diocese, Anglican Communion,  appealed to staff of the institution to give quality services at all times so as to give the institution the pride it deserves, saying all hands must be on deck. 

In a remark, the Proprietor of the institute, Pastor Joseph Ebinum expressed appreciation to God for providing the enablement for the actualizing his dreams and appealed to all to spread the message of the institution. 

He thanked SEPLAT Petroleum Ltd, for partnering with the institution over the years. 

The official commissioning of the institute complex by the Commissioner for Agriculture formed the highlights of the ceremony. 

The ceremony was graced by the Zenith and Unity Banks, Ndokwa West and East Local Government Area, HOSTCOM, National Council for Women Society NCWS, as well as the representative of the Chief Job Creation Officer in Delta State, Mrs. Ochuko Erhunwusee.
