21-year old 300 level student of History and International Studies, Delta State University, Abraka, Miss Oboroh Oghenegueke has won the maiden edition of Miss Cultural Heritage Delta 2015, MCHD held Sunday December 6 at the prestigious Mom Civic Centre in Warri, Delta State.
Our Senior Correspondent reports that the cultural beauty queen who hails from Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State scored 80 points to defeat seven other contestants, representing different ethnic groups and Local Government Areas in Delta State.
The grand finale of the historical event showcased the rich cultural heritage of various ethnic groups in Delta State as well as the intellectual capacity of the eight contestants. It was proceeded by a two-week camping of the beauty queens.
The keenly contested pageantry saw Miss Isoko North, Efokodo Martha emerging first runner-up, Miss Aniocha North, Ajufoh Victory, second runner-up and Miss Warri North, Tuoyo Blessing emerging third runner-up.
In their addresses, organizers of the event, Temisan Louis, Ovie Ogujor and Blessing Dominic, explained that 40% of the assessment went for camping of the contestants, while other criteria made up 60% so as to ensure all-round grading of the eight beauty queens.

They decry the lack of support from the Delta State Government in staging the maiden edition of the event and appealed for support “because MCHD serves as a unifying factor among the various ethnic groups in Delta State as well as for sustenance of peace among Deltans”.
In a remark, Managing Director of Akpobless Motors, Mr. Blessing Akpodafe, disclosed of his intention to rejuvenate entertainment industry in Warri and promised to encourage upcoming artistes, just as he donated a brand new Toyota Hyundai Car to the maiden MCHD 2015, Miss Oboroh Oghenegueke.
The MCHD 2015 queen, Miss Oboroh Oghenegueke, commended the organizers as well as sponsors of the pageantry and promised to use her reign to initiate good projects that will positively influence students.
