There was mild drama in Isoko area of Delta State recently when a four-man kidnap gang in the course of their evil operation encountered vehicle accident twice in Olomoro and Iyede Isoko, Fresh Angle International has learnt
According to a Statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Celestina Kalu, the four armed men operating with a Vento Volkswagen car, bearing registration number LEH 339 LS kidnapped a Veteran Publisher, Dr. Idodo Umeh on his way to Church service at Olomoro.
Fortunately for the victim, the suspects got involved in accident with the Vento car, snatched a KIA Jeep with Reg. No. LEH 339 SL from one Vincent Onwo, but surprisingly had another accident with the Jeep at Iyede Isoko, where they reportedly abandoned the vehicle as well as the victim and escaped.
The Police Statement explained that in the course of man-hunt for the hoodlums on the same fateful day, three of the kidnappers: 25-year old Awueferoye Ifowodo, Oghenemine Bright, aged 32 and 28-year old Nwabuwa John was arrested, while the fourth member of the gang, Uzuke John was nabbed at a later death.
Meanwhile, a certain Chukwunekwu Obi who is said to belong to a criminal syndicate that specializes in stealing of motorcycles within Kwale area of Delta State has been apprehended by Police operatives attached to Kwale Division.
Items allegedly recovered from him include two motorcycles valued at N 260, 000.00
