N13BILLION LAND FRAUD: WHY TOMPOLO’S MEDIA TIRADE AGAINST EFCC, APC, IS A FRUITLESS DIVERSIONARY BLACKMAIL

BACKGROUND:

The 1999 Constitution guarantees every Nigerian the right to openly express his or herself, however the constitution does not in any way gives license for any individual, institution, group or corporate body to distort facts or publish deliberate falsehood with the sole intent of tarnishing the reputation of any individual or institution.

Members of BMC would not have bothered to spend our scarce resources to respond to Mr. Government Ekpemupolo  AKA Tompolo’s diversionary blackmail targeted at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and the All Progressives Congress, APC, because we trust in the above credible institution as well as political party to constitutionally carry out their responsibility and obligation towards Nigerians.

But the need to correct the concocted publication sponsored by Mr. Government Ekpemupolo AKA Tompolo ,regarding the lawful invite extended to him by the EFCC to appear at the Commission’s office latest Thursday December 17, 2015, has become extremely imperative, so as not to allow him deceive gullible Nigerians on the ongoing investigation of N13billion paid by NIMASA for the purported acquisition of land for Nigerian Maritime University, NMU project in Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State.

The infallible truth is that the controversy surrounding the acquisition of land by NIMASA for Nigerian Maritime University, NMU project in Warri South-West Local Government Area did not start under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

In-fact a prominent Gbaramatu Chief, Michael Johnny was at a time arrested and illegally detained at the Nigerian Prisons Warri for months by the former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan administration for exposing the land acquisition fraud at the behest of Tompolo .

Chief Michael Johnny at that time, raised alarm of how people of Gbaramatu were short- changed in the 13billion naira, the Patrick Akpobolokemi led NIMASA paid through current Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro (who was then Attorney to Gbaramatu) and how the money under the Goodluck Jonathan administration was purportedly shared between Tompolo and his big political powers, leaving the suffering Gbaramatu people to scramble for peanuts.

It took the effort of the EFCC under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to expose the N13billion fraudulent land acquisition by Tompolo through forgery and uttering of the signatures of the then Acting Chairman and other officials of the Warri South-West Local Government for a purported grant of Customary Right of Occupancy (CRO) to Tompolo controlled company.

Nigerians and indeed the International Communities are invited to ask wherein lies the baseless accusation of Witch-hunt and blackmail by Tompolo of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the EFCC when an alleged case of forgery, uttering, stealing, money laundering and misappropriation of a huge sum of 13billion naira tax payers’ money was paid to Tompolo’s private account illegally for a land that does not belong to him but to the communities wherein the Nigeria Maritime University, NMU is sited. Tompolo has to prove to Nigerians that he is above the law or too lily-livered to face the consequence of his past malfeasance, hence his refusal to heed to the lawful invitation by the EFCC to clear his name.

It is therefore a blatant lie for Tompolo to link EFCC and the APC to the present travail that he invited unto himself for fraudulently fleecing the Nigerian people of the huge sum of 13billion naira, an amount large enough to change the face of the long suffering Niger Delta people which course he claims to champion.

SUBMISSION:

*Mr. Government Ekpemupolo, who ordinarily should have no business with the conduct of the controversial December 5, 2015 Bayelsa governorship poll has only confirmed through his publication that he allegedly mobilized 80% of the thugs and mercenaries PDP used to rig the inconclusive Bayelsa gubernatorial election.

Most of the thugs were purportedly hired from Delta State and a few others from neighbouring Rivers State to muzzle the APC gubernatorial candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva.

*The likes of Tompolo should explain the unbelievable ambush and violent attack on the Ekeremor home of the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri. An attack allegedly orchestrated by Tompolo and his cohorts because of the fear that APC governorship candidate, Timipre Sylva would win Ekeremor Local Government Area, considered to be the strong hold of All Progressives Congress.

*The All Progressives Congress, APC has not at any time woo Tompolo to come to his fold, even when the party was in the opposition. The APC certainly would not have embarked on such voyage, let alone now that the APC is working tirelessly to save Nigeria from the economic mess it inherited.

Our final advice to Tompolo is for him to honour the EFCC invite as a clear conscience fears no accusation.
