Two hoodlums shot dead same day in Ughelli, Oghara

The Police have shot dead two robbery suspects from two different gang in Ughelli and Oghara, both in Delta State same day, while two others from one of the gangs escaped with bullet wounds, Fresh Angle International can report.

A combined team of Police Patrol team and vigilante in Ughelli were said to have mobilized to Oteri bush in Ughelli following a tip off that three suspected armed men after robbery operations were sighted at the bush.

According to a Police Statement, the hoodlums on sighting the combined team inside the Oteri bush, opened fire on them. In the ensuing battle, one of the criminals was allegedly gunned down, while the other two members of the gang escaped with bullet wounds.

In the same vein, following a distress call that a Toyota Hiace bus was under attack by armed robbers along Sapele/Benin Road, Oghara, the DPO in-charge of that area swiftly dispatched patrol team to the scene.

The Statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP. Celestina Kalu, explained that the hoodlums on sighting the patrol men engaged them in a shootout and in the process, one of the three bandits was gunned down, while the remaining two escaped.

One cut-to-size gun, one live and two expended cartridges were reportedly recovered from the bandits.

Meanwhile, the commercial driver of the attacked Toyota Hiace computer bus with Reg. No. DT 183 B28, one Goddey Akale of Okpere Road, Ughelli, told the Police that the hoodlums boarded the vehicle as passengers at Ring Road Benin City, Edo State enroute Warri, Delta State.

According to him, on getting to Koko Junction in Delta State, one of the hoodlums shot him on his left hand and took over his vehicle steering.
